Coach Steven Stanley: Building a Program Without Losing Home

Coach Steven Stanley took a head coaching job in a new state, moved his family, and still had to figure out how to walk through the door at night and be a dad.

Dustin Whitlock and Ryan Grow sit down with Stanley, head football coach at Silver Creek High School in Indiana. He talks about the road from Warner University quarterback to running his own program, what the move to Indiana cost his family and what it gave back, and what it looks like raising a three-year-old daughter while building something from the ground up.

Along the way: the sacrifices a coach’s wife makes that nobody claps for, why your players need to see you be a father, how to actually be present when you finally get home, and the leadership lessons Stanley picked up from the coaches who shaped him.

If you are running a program and raising a family at the same time, you will hear yourself in this one.

Presented by the Board Drill Network.
